Dr. Jennifer Jurado is Broward County's Chief Resilience Officer. According to Dr. Jurado's comments, the project seems to be in conflict with Broward County's climate and resilience planning strategy, the policies in the County's land use plan, comprehensive plan, and climate action plan. Here are Dr. Jurado's comments: https://www.broward.org/PlanningCouncil/Documents/PC%2023-2%20Review%20Agency%20Comments%204-26-23.pdf
In addition, you can read public comments submitted to the County to date: https://www.broward.org/PlanningCouncil/Pages/PendingBCLUPAmendments.aspx
In light of this important information about the conflict with the County's climate and resilience strategies to protect lives and infrastructure, perhaps the City should suggest that the developers build their project in a more appropriate location.
