Hollywood registered voters, please come in person to sign!

Three opportunities coming up to sign the official referendum petition to reject the City Commission’s decision to allow a 30 story private skyscraper on our public oceanfront land (meant for parks/recreation/public purpose):
*Tues 5/10 Hollywood Beach Community Center. 6:30-8:30 pm. 1301 S. Ocean Dr. (FREE parking because of the civic association meeting)
*Tues 5/10 Boulevard Heights Community Center. 6:30-8:30 pm. 6770 Garfield St.
*Sat 6/4 Boulevard Heights Community Center
12 noon-2 pm. 6770 Garfield St.


Everyone signing must be a Hollywood registered voter. If you aren’t, the City Clerk will disqualify your signature. You can only sign for yourself, not a spouse or family member. You must sign on paper (not electronic). You can only sign one time. All of the registered voters in a household may sign the petition. Write neatly, as all names/addresses will be verified on voter registrations. Hollywood residents, please spread the word on Next Door and on social media. Thank you!

“The electors shall have the power, in accordance with the provisions of this Article 5, to approve or reject at the polls any measure passed by the commission or submitted by the commission to a vote of the electors, such power being known as a referendum.”
“Upon the delivery of a referendum petition signed by at least fifteen percent (15%) of the total number of registered voters in each of four (4) districts of the city and at least fifteen percent (15%) of the total number of registered voters of the city as a whole, all as shown by the official registration books, the referendum petition shall be considered sufficient and shall be acted upon as provided herein.”
