Install smoke detectors in all animal housing and keep park staffed at all times

The Issue

Over twenty animals were killed and fourteen are under veterinary care due to smoke inhalation in a primate barn at Hollywild Animal Park January 10, 2015. This is unacceptable and could have been easily prevented with a smoke detector. The smoke was caused by an electrical fire which started due to a short in a light fixture according to Hollywild's Press Coordinator. Hollywild Animal Park should not be allowed to continue operation until all animal housing facilities are equipped with potentially life saving smoke detectors. In addition, there needs to be someone on the premises at all times to ensure that if a smoke alarm sounds it will be heard and animals can be rescued.
