Petition updateHold Perplexity accountable for unlimited claimsNo quota indicators in Web, Windows app, or Comet — limits exist, but users must use hidden endpoint

Many Pro subscribers are currently unable to see how many Research (Deep Research) requests or Create Files and Apps runs they have remaining in the Web UI, the Perplexity Windows app, or the Comet browser. Some users report the only place they can see remaining quotas in the normal product UI is the Android app—otherwise they’re left guessing.

This is a significant transparency issue, as the Perplexity Help Center states that File & App Creation (formerly Labs) is available to Pro subscribers across web, mobile, and desktop apps. It also explains that Research/Deep Research is a different mode, but the user experience does not yet display a clear "quota remaining" counter for either mode on these platforms.

Perplexity also stated that usage limits for Deep Research/Research have been changed, confirming that limits exist and can change over time, making visible meters even more essential for paying subscribers.

The "Hidden" Way to Check Remaining Rates (Not Normal)
Currently, the only reliable way some users have found to check remaining usage is to manually visit an internal endpoint:

https://www.perplexity.ai/rest/rate-limit/all

This endpoint returns quota fields such as remaining_research and remaining_labs (among other counters), demonstrating that Perplexity already monitors these limits internally.

It shouldn't be the customer's job to discover and query a REST endpoint just to figure out how much is left on a paid plan.

Why It's Important
Without visible counters, users can't plan work, avoid outages, or verify what they're paying for.

If usage limits change over time, the impact is amplified without a clear UI indicator and proactive notifications.

What we're asking Perplexity to implement (specific + measurable)
Add quota indicators on the web, Perplexity Windows app, and Comet: show remaining Research (Deep Research) and Create/Labs usage, as well as the reset date/time (or renewal window).

Publish official quotas by plan and region (Pro/Max/Enterprise) and maintain a public change log whenever usage limits are changed.

Notice for material changes (limits and/or pricing): Perplexity's Terms of Service state that changes to pricing or subscription plans take effect after "reasonable notice," and users must ensure that such notice is explicit, timestamped, and delivered via email and in-app
