For those of you who follow @Wewillbseen on Instagram and Twitter, you may know that this Nazi prison is now hosting a music festival: Mybloodyfestival. This is beyond disrespectful and it lasts well until July 12th. With big artists like Aurora Music, Arlo Parks, Yellow Days, Sleaford Mods, Moderat, Yves Tumor, and many more. 
We are asking for your help to copy and paste this email template below and send it to the prison’s email as well as the festival’s.

Hello, 

I am emailing you today as a concerned individual that is appalled at the reality of a former Nazi prison being turned into an entertainment venue. 

This prison is hosting a music event that charged guests 60 to 130 euros to party atop the site where Rroma, Jews, Poles, and political prisoners were kidnapped, imprisoned, starved, tortured, and killed. A majority of these genocide victims were transferred to Ponay where 100,000 people were slaughtered by firing squads. 

The Holocaust is not a “thing of the past”, it is a living memory and reality for Jews and Rroma all over Europe and beyond. Lithuania in particular continues to persecute its Rromani population while denying its direct part in their genocide- which is again, an ongoing genocide.

We demand that this event is canceled, that the prison ceases to use it as an entertainment venue, and that the prison is respected as a memorial to remember the victims whose lives were stolen and to the permanent gaps in Rroma, Jewish, and Polish family trees. You must acknowledge how this Nazi prison turned “entertainment venue” adds to the erasure of Rroma and Jewish Holocaust victims and survivors. 

Lithuania should never be allowed to forget its stain on human history by erasing itself from the narrative. We won’t forget. Genocide is not for profit.
