Hold Indian Reservations accountable for animal welfare in Alberta

Hold Indian Reservations accountable for animal welfare in Alberta
The Issue
Animal rescue facilities and compassionate individuals have been working tirelessly to combat the ongoing neglect and abuse of animals on Indian Reservations in Alberta, Canada. This is a heartfelt call to action for those who share our love for these innocent creatures and their right to live in a safe and caring environment. Animals, much like humans, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
The heartbreaking reality is that countless animals on these lands suffer daily from neglect, lack of proper food and water, inadequate shelter, and sometimes even intentional harm. These conditions are alarming and unacceptable, and we can no longer turn a blind eye to the pain and suffering endured by these voiceless beings.
There is an urgent need for accountability and improved standards for the health and safety of animals residing on reservations across Alberta. While it is recognized that many organizations and people are already dedicated to this cause, the effort requires a collective push for systemic change. We believe that the local bands and reservation authorities must step up and take responsibility by implementing and enforcing humane and ethical animal welfare standards on their lands.
We propose the introduction of a robust animal welfare protocol that includes regular inspections, proper nutrition and housing for the animals, and severe penalties for animal cruelty. Banning ownership of animals on Reservations. Make it a crime! Additionally, we have already encouraged collaboration with animal welfare organizations to provide necessary training and resources for appropriate animal care on reservations.
This has not worked. The abuse and neglect is getting worse and rescues are full.
By taking action now, we can make a significant difference in the lives of countless animals. Our vision for a cruelty-free and caring environment for these creatures is within reach if we unite our voices and demand accountability from reservation officials.
We kindly ask you to join us in making this vision a reality. Sign this petition to urge reservation and band authorities in Alberta to prioritize and enforce animal welfare regulations. Together, we can ensure that all animals are treated with the compassion and care they so rightly deserve.
