The global leadership of both of these companies have reached out to the Open Wing Alliance to request a meeting. It is clear the petition and the many social media comments left by caring customers are getting to them.
We are proud to be a member of the Open Wing Alliance, a global coalition of over 90 animal welfare organisations, leading the charge on animal welfare campaigns like this one. By working with food brands and holding them accountable, corporate campaigns go straight to the source and demand that the food brands improve the animal welfare conditions on farms that supply their stores or factories.
Here in New Zealand, Animals Aotearoa is working on corporate social responsibility policies for hens farmed for eggs and chickens bred for meat. We’re a new-ish charity in our third year of operation and, thanks to caring people like you, we are making change for chickens in New Zealand.
