Hi Everyone,

I have received two questions/comments about why the salary information was included in this petition. One person suggested that it muddies the waters. I think he might be right. But let me explain why I decided to include this. 

What I hoped to communicate is that by paying our superintendent more than almost any other in the country, we can, in turn, expect more. That being said, I realize we deserve to expect integrity, no matter the salary. 

I also wanted to highlight that our school board members have failed to do the job they were elected to do, which is to hire, evaluate, and hold the superintendent accountable. They seem to be doing the opposite at a huge cost to taxpayers. The petition demands accountability not just for the superintendent but also for school board members.

When systems lack accountability, bad things happen. We fail to protect others from themselves. 

So, that is my logic!
