If there is one thing I’m learning about this petition it is that it really doesn’t go far enough in making our point but they are noticing! 

Lawmakers we elect to send to DC are elected to be good stewards of our tax dollars and pass an on-time budget, yet they have failed to do so since 1997! Instead of doing so they use the appropriations bills to cram in large spending packages, hidden expenses that we all pay for, and hold the country hostage until their demands are met rather than submitting them as individual bills. Do we really want our country governed that way? 

Perhaps this petition doesn’t go far enough. Perhaps passing the budget on time should be made a condition of running for re-election.

Remember, regardless of party, our elected members are selected to represent ALL constituents in their district. They’re failing.

Here are the Senators that have been in office more than 20 years (those with a * are up for re-election in 2026). These individuals have been in office for every missed budget deadline since 1997!

Do you really believe they are worth re-electing? If they aren’t doing their job we need to stop re-electing them if we can’t get them out of office for failing to do their job!
