What “Justice for Makenzie” Means Now
When we first started this petition, we were asking for him to be removed from the classroom. He has now resigned but that is not justice. Walking away does not undo what happened or the impact it has had on Makenzie.
She is still carrying this. She is still hurting. What happened to her was wrong, and no child should ever have to experience something like this. There are also serious concerns about transparency and accountability, especially given the close connections within the school system. Situations like this deserve to be handled with complete integrity, openness, and without any influence or conflict of interest.
Justice for Makenzie now means accountability. It means a full, unbiased investigation and the pursuit of appropriate criminal charges. It means making sure her voice is heard and that no other child has to go through this.
We will continue to stand, speak, and fight for Makenzie and for every child who deserves to feel safe and protected.
