At a time when our community is shaken and parents are demanding transparency regarding violent threats, we finally heard from the high school principal today via ParentSquare.

The topic? Not security, nor the promised police presence, nor our children's safety.

Instead, the message was focused entirely on raising attendance numbers. It is deeply concerning that while 580+ members of this community are calling for accountability and protection, the district’s primary concern seems to be the "bottom line" and attendance rates.

Our children are not just "attendance numbers": they are human beings who deserve to feel safe in their classrooms. To ignore the ongoing safety concerns in favor of an attendance lecture is a slap in the face to every parent who stayed home today out of fear.
