Save HMV Bury St. Edmunds!

Save HMV Bury St. Edmunds!
The Issue
Today it has been confirmed HMV are set to close their Bury St. Edmunds store after an agreement couldn't be reached with their landlord regarding a new lease. A new agreement would have kept the store in the town for the foreseeable future. HMV Bury St. Edmunds has now entered closure mode and will no longer be trading by the end of next month. The only way this store can be saved is if the landlord is willing to reconsider their decision.
The Company has recently been purchased by Sunrise Records of Canada and remains to trade nationwide. This store was initially safe from the threat of closure a few months ago, as it was understood the landlord would be willing to agree new terms post administration.
HMV has no desire to close one of their best performing stores but if the landlord is reluctant to keep them as tenants, they will have no choice and 10 members of staff will lose their jobs.
The store had a lot planned for the future, with Local artists playing in store and adding the facilities to stock their albums as well as their merchandise. This would have been an amazing addition to an already thriving Bury St. Edmunds music scene.
The landlord needs to hear the voices of those who object to the closure of our shop. HMV attracts many unique customers to the Arc, many of which wouldn't usually enter the shopping centre.
Help us be heard! Sign this petition and email the Arc a couple of lines to expressing your concerns with the landlord's decision.
