Washington Post correspondent Jason Rezaian was recently freed from Iranian prison after 545 days of detention. Today, Jason is on his way home to the United States. He spent the past week recovering with his family at the U.S. military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. Before leaving for home, Jason said: “At some point, I will be ready to discuss my ordeal, but for now, I just want to express my profound appreciation for the tremendous support I have received. I am humbled by all I have learned about the efforts undertaken on my behalf. Today, I am incredibly thankful for my family, my fellow journalists, my colleagues at The Washington Post, and everyone else who fought for my freedom.” While Ali said: “The past few days with Jason and our family at Landstuhl have been a dream come true. To have Jason back and displaying his characteristic warmth, humor, and inquisitiveness is remarkable and a testament to his spirit and inner strength.” You can read more here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/post-reporter-rezaian-flies-to-us-after-release-by-iran-checkups-in-germany/2016/01/22/b47273ba-c09e-11e5-bcda-62a36b394160_story.html
