I wanted to wait to send this email until I got all the facts. Thank you again for supporting the petition asking the Albemarle School Board to not extend Dr. Haas's contract. Sadly, even with our petition, the School Board in a closed door meeting with no public input chose to give Dr. Haas a two year extension including a pay raise. This was announced at the last regularly scheduled meeting which was sparsely attended. The extension was not on the agenda for the meeting, so no one showed up for public comment. If this decision angers and/or disappoints you, the next opportunity to provide public comments about it is this Thursday at the School Board meeting. It looks like we will have Dr. Haas as the ACPS Superintendent for the time being, so we need to ensure we stay focused and hold him accountable for the performance of ACPS since the School Board isn't doing it. Thank you for your continued support!
