Plastic waste is news. Big news. For very good reason. The world over we have become very reliant on plastic. It's ubiquitous due to its cheapness and practicality, and, most unfortunately, for its durability. As a result our environment is awash with plastic that will remain for millennia.

The fact plastic waste is big news is great. It's driving lots of us to change our habits. To think twice about the plastic we use. Sadly, not everyone is switched on to making changes. Yet. So we have to get our service providers to change habits for us by providing goods that use less, or better still no plastic.

One such opportunity for change is the use of small plastic bottles for toiletries in hotels. Some of the budget chains, probably by default, already offer a better alternative with refillable dispensers being used. Even large, multi-use bottles would be better as the relative volume of plastic as a ratio of dispensed soap is significantly better.

What I want is a petition, signed by millions (I'm ambitious), that then gets sent to the PR heads of all the major chains, letting them know we want change.
