Hello,
I am taking the first tranche of signatures, including your own, to the US Consulate tomorrow, to alert Hillary to our petition. I have 58 (hopefully 60 by 9am, if you can get a chum to sign too), of whom 3 of you are from the US, 2 germans, 1 belgian, 2 aussies and 50 from the UK. I shall explain to Hillary that there will be many more. We are fortunate in that Jan Irvine will be speaking tomorrow at our gathering (http://stv.tv/news/east-central/294865-transsexual-who-claims-she-was-bullied-out-her-police-job-vows-to-keep-fighting/ ) an activist who will be speaking from Chelsea's writings; Jan is going to help get Edinburgh Pride (http://prideedinburgh.org.uk/) involved through their march on 2nd July to help publicise our campaign.
If you can't make tomorrow, the next bunch of signatures will be delivered around the 9th July- we should get many signatures (on paper signing sheets) on the 2nd. If any of you want to help that day, please let me know. (You can get me at www.roseburn32.plus.com).
I will also be playing Aaron's (Chelsea's friend) - speech out loud, from the Blueprint acceptance award, for the Consul to hear. The Consul tells me she will be unable to welcome us in, it being the weekend, so she will accept our petition through the letterbox. The BBC, Herald and maybe Radio Forth will be there to record proceedings and the Edinburgh Evening News say they will print a photo if we take a good one.
Thanks for your support. I think Chelsea will appreciate it. I shall send out links to media coverage on Monday. The press release is attached.
Cheers the noo
