I have submitted the petition to National Highway's and await their formal response. 

In the meantime there has already been a set back in the battle to clean up the A5.

National Highways are refusing to allow the council to install litter cameras on their lampposts. These cameras would automatically record and fine those messing up the A5.

The A5 suffers from terrible amounts of litter that is discarded by uncaring motorists. It costs public money to clean and endangers wildlife, as well as making the town look messy. It should be these litter louts paying to clean-up the A5, not the public.
