Last week I joined members of Tamworth Volunteer Litter Pickers to talk to the BBC’s Rip of Britain show about litter on major roads that Highways England are responsible for cleaning.

We carried out a litter pick while were together and collected about 14 bags of litter from a 100ft stretch of verge by the M42 service station. This number of bags all to well illustrates the litter issues on major roads in the area.

There is a huge amount of drive amongst the litter picking community to clean these roads, but their dangerous nature means that Highways England need to do more to clear their motorways and major A-roads of litter.

Please help to get up the pressure on Highways England by getting more signatures on the petition. Please share it with your friends ad family.
