A couple of local news stations have shared stories in this. We Are Iowa Ch 5 and KCCI. The gentleman who wrote the story for KCCI reached out just a few hours before they published and shared on the news cast and never responded to my offer of comment after the fact. Unfortunately it also seems Ch 5 interviewed not the president but a stand-in for the president of our Neighborhood Association and didn't really speak to anyone else.

What folks are completely missing out on is this was purely driven by businesses and the Neighborhood Association. In a post from the Iowa Department of Transportation, we requested where to direct complaints and we were forwarded to the City of Des Moines. Please folks, in addition to signing send emails, letters, make phone calls to the city and let them know how this is working out (or rather not....). This pilot project has been a burden on traffic and has driven traffic to our side streets. Now we also find the city does not even have traffic numbers for our side streets so there's nothing to compare to except for us and complaints.
