JOIN OUR RALLY TO STOP 7 DAY A WEEK CLOSURE TO VEHICLES

High Park has now been closed to cars on weekends for FIVE years, this has decimated attendance, shutting out many who need it most and longtime visitors.

Within TWO years, closure SEVEN Days a week to vehicles will be implemented. 

To date the weekend closure has created a loss of participants in various Sports Groups, attendance at the Zoo and other park venues has dropped. Many Senior Groups and Families can no longer make the long trek to the varied attractions the park offers. Long-time yearly events no longer take place: Fall Fair, Pumpkin Float, Christmas Celebration with Santa, Sports Tournaments and Holiday Tree Event at the Zoo. Besides lack of visitors, this is due to lack of volunteers- many seniors who cannot make the 1-3 km trek to participate.

The belated introduction of more benches and game tables to be installed where once there was parking, and the $30.00 a family Shuttle will not give visitors ACCESS to the Park.

NOW is the time to write to the mayor_chow@toronto.ca and YOUR Councillor and tell them what you think.  THANK YOU ….
