GG21.9 - Award of Doc4755698985 to Carla Construction and Maintenance Ltd., for Operation and Maintenance of a Passenger Transportation Shuttle Service for High Park and other Potential Parks

Many councillors at the City Council meeting on May 22 were critical of this new shuttle service proposal and heated discussion lasted for 45 minutes.  However, the motion to proceed was eventually passed with a 12 - 6 vote in favour, due to the absence of any other solution to the demise of the “trackless train”.  

Councillor Crisanti suggested the return of cars to the park seven days a week but local Ward 4 Councillor Perks was quick to stress, in dramatic fashion, that discussion of the original vote (May 2023) for the High Park Movement Strategy (HPMS) to decrease & eliminate car access was not permitted at this meeting, which was for discussion of a shuttle service only.  

WE ENCOURAGE ALL OF OUR HIGH PARK ACCESS FOR ALL SUPPORTERS TO CONTINUE TO WRITE EMAILS TO COUNCILLORS AND VISIT CONSTITUENCY OFFICES  TO LOBBY FOR THE RETURN OF CAR ACCESS AND THE RETURN OF 360 LOST PARKING SPACES.  THE SHUTTLE SERVICE WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF ACCESS TO THE PARK!
