The City plans to close High Park to cars 365 days a year by 2026

Interesting that the City can afford to install a Racing Track for Cyclists in High Park but has not found funding in the last ten years to: Replace speed bumps on park roads that were removed for the Pam Am Games in 2015- Repair, winterize and install new Washrooms- Install additional benches- Repair crumbling walls around the Duck Pond and lower ponds- Repair the fountains in the water gardens- Repair the waterfall in at Hillside Gardens-Maintain nature trails and repair steps and handrails on them-Clear snow and ice on sidewalks.

With no car access you will be unable to : Take the kids for a quick swim- Attend evening performances at The Dream, too dark for walking back -Plan a spontaneous lunch with friends-"just pop out for lunch in the park"-Have a quick unofficial group meeting on the café patio-Take a disabled friend or relation to the park for a change of scene

Colborne Lodge is 2-3 kl from the subway or paid road parking (limit 3 hours) , never mind, hop on the planned shuttle ( if it is running ) charge  $5-6 dollars each but children under 3 ride free!

You may be active now but don't break a leg, have surgery or get old...

The vote by City Council will be on May 10th. ACT NOW !!!!
