The High Park Strategy Movement Proposal will be presented at the next Meeting of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee on April 25th.
Over the recent Easter weekend the park was closed to cars for three days, making a family excursion with very young, elderly or disabled family members out of the question. High Park should be open to seven days a week and free to all.
The proposed changes to Paid Parking, TTC buses and a 'Pay for Use' shuttle would make the park costly to all who visit, and out of range for the less privileged. Closing the park to cars affects for those constrained by health, age or income and they have been shut out of the park on weekends and holidays for the past three years.
