Due to the Road Closures in High Park on weekends, families who wish to visit the “Snowflake Walks” being held by Friends of High Park Zoo from 5-6pm on Sunday December 12th and 19th. will have to walk to High Park Zoo from Bloor Street, Parkside Drive and Ellis Avenue.  A request to have the Park re-opened for the evening on those two Sundays to accommodate families with young children and the elderly, was refused. Accessibility to events /venues in High Park is being seriously affected by the current road closures and could continue into the new year. This would prevent  a vast number of the population from enjoying many events in the future. Please contact your City Councillor and make your views known.The Councillor for High Park is councillor_perks@toronto.ca Please cc  311@toronto.ca and mayortory@toronto.ca as he should be aware that access to a public park is being denied to a select group.
