Time is running out for your individual submissions to IWC regarding heritage destruction for FF2

Thank you for all those that have signed the Change Petition, Hey Inner West Labor Led Council Hands off our Heritage Neighbourhoods - we currently are getting close to 800
signatures (see here : https://c.org/Mntntwykxj ) - it would be great if we could get to 1000 - if anyone can share that would be great. However, we need as many of you as possible to put in an individual submission - info below.

Council will not count all signatures as an objection, so please share the template below as widely as you can, even if you have signed the petition to ensure your voice is heard.

IWC has still not communicated these destructive  plans to all streets and residents and is planning to delist, demolish and develop large swathes of houses in the streets and neighbourhoods we know and love.

At the recent Town Hall events run by the Greens to discuss Fairer Future 2 the focus was on affordable housing, yes we get it, we need more homes, but this cannot be at the destruction of current homes and neighbourhoods.

The dialogue needs to be refocused so that someone stands up for our homes and built heritage in the face of overzealous developers and our greedy council.

Please raise the issue of heritage protections with any events you attend or politicians you talk to that it is an important issue that as your representatives, they need to address and not bury our concerns under their parties policy objectives, regardless of which party you support.

HERITAGE IS NOT A DIRTY WORD. 
 
KEEP DIRTY DEVELOPER HANDS OFF OUR NEIGHBOURHOODS 
 
We your constituents in the Inner West Council are appalled and disgusted with your plans for Fairer Future and now Fairer Future Stage 2 and unequivocally reject these plans.
 
The Labor Lead IWC is purposefully advocating for the destruction of Heritage neighbourhoods and homes for large scale and inappropriate development which will lead to the demolition of many homes currently protected in heritage conservation areas or listed as heritage items in the Inner West.
We are also angry that you have handed over Fairer Future Stage 1 and the Parramatta Road Rezoning to the State Government without considering your constituents and the impact on the character, amenity and liveability of our homes, streets and neighbourhoods.
 
Destroying our heritage homes, streets and neighbourhoods is not the solution.
 
· We oppose delisting Heritage Protections in the Inner West for future development.
· We reject large scale development that comes with overshadowing and privacy impacts on suburban amenity and streetscape. 
· Any future development MUST consider heritage homes, streets and neighbourhoods and NOT destroy them.

Fairer Future Stage 1 and 2 will destroy the Inner West.
Fairer Future Stage 2 will result in development control changes in 15 Inner West suburbs, including Croydon, Ashfield, Dulwich Hill, Leichhardt, Lilyfield, Rozelle, Lewisham, Petersham, Stanmore, Newtown, Marrickville and St Peters.

The Inner West community now has just six weeks to absorb around 978 pages of material, and comment on the plans, without the benefit of a briefing from staff or Councillors.
Fairer Future Stage 2 will remove more than 500 properties from Heritage Conservation Areas and 18 heritage items - the greatest heritage destruction event in the Inner West's history.

There is very poor summary information to allow the community to understand what's on exhibition

There are multiple 20 plus storey towers planned around the Inner West LGA 

There are mass rezonings of current low density streets

Fairer Future Stage 2 is not accompanied by a funded infrastructure plan, despite Council analysis that this housing growth could increase public transport usage by 35% in the next 15 years

We call on you to halt Fairer Future Stage 2 and to stop the wholesale destruction of Heritage homes, buildings, streets and neighbourhoods in the Inner West.
