Not a week goes by when we at the Royston Crow don't hear of lives being put at risk on the A505, mainly on the Royston to Baldock stretch – which has a 70 mph speed limit, is dotted with cut-throughs in the central reservation for access to our rural villages, and slip lanes onto the junctions that are just too short to be safe, not to mention poor visibility and a real problem with wrong-way drivers.

We’ve reported on occasions when members of our community – often on their way to work or see family – suffer life-changing injuries on this perilous road. And now we are calling for action to be taken to make the road safer and will continue to push for improvements until changes are made.
