Veterans who offered their lives in defense of home and family 2. The Alachua county Commissioners asked the Matheson Museum if they would take the statue a few days ago, they said NO. So, now there is going to be another meeting to discuss what to do with the statue. Let's not forget that the Alachua County Veterans Advisory Board said they wanted the statue to remain where it is and has been since 1904. At the last meeting, the Commissioners just disregard their recommendation. Now, we have to stay on top of them, we have to show up at the meetings, and keep the pressure on! The Cenotaph represents the Veterans of Alachua County and Florida. Confederate Soldiers are American Veterans. Maybe they will make a decision on this day, who knows, but, we need to show up and speak,. Myself and others will be driving 2 or more hours to speak. Please have your friends show up and speak.
