The Issue
Here (styled 'HERE', formerly Navteq from 1986 to 2008 upon acquisition by Nokia, Ovi Maps from 2008 to 2011, and Nokia Maps from 2011 to 2012) is a company owned by Audi, BMW, and Daimler (and was formerly owned by Nokia until December 2015) that brings together mapping and location businesses under one brand.
This offline mobile navigating application was first seen on Nokia s60v3 devices (N95, etc) and then continued for Nokia s60v5 devices (5230, 5800, n97, etc). Since then, Nokia smartphones started to be popular due to the reliable Ovi Maps. With the grew of smartphone technology, Nokia managed to design high-end Symbian OS smartphones (N8, E7, C7, 808, etc) with Nokia Maps. This useful navigation application not only can be used offline with preloaded map data, users can also view traffic updates and weather forecasts. Things changed when Nokia started to focus on Lumia devices and left our devices to be obsolete. However, this phenomena never stop us from being loyal to the phone that has been really reliable to us. Compare to other smartphones, these flagship devices are still being used today due to high stability and offline navigation. With the help of microsoft, these phones also support microsoft services (OneNote, Onedrive, Lync, etc) very well. As the world started to rise more, new roads are made to enhance our driving experience. The bad news is the map data for our phones kept obsolete since the update has been stopped. This is a major problem for us since our phone will never give us new routes. Our phones have been so useful, thus making us quite sad as our beloved phones are starting to be more neglected. We really hope that with this petition, Here will update our map data so that we still can use our evergreen gadget. Moving on is never an option to us as our phone still support lots of application. Even Whatsapp for symbian releases new updates, yesterday. Updating our map data may not give as much profit, but we are the reputation of your company will be increase as you keep our phones honoured with the new updated map data.
