Many students, teachers, and faculty at Freeman and Godwin have expressed their concerns and firmly stated their positions against block scheduling. However, going against the wishes of the community, Henrico County has decided to institute block scheduling at these two schools. Many teachers at these schools have not taught under block scheduling and aren’t prepared to teach a non-seven period day schedule. Block schedule results in bored students and requires teachers change lesson plans and class designs. Please, we ask Henrico County to listen to the wishes of actual Freeman and Godwin students and allow us to continue with a seven period day schedule.
