Downtown East Commons park is being designed as an icon for the City of Minneapolis. A postcard for the active, engaged, and urban character of the city. However, Hennepin County refuses to close one block of Portland Avenue; a three-lane, one-way road which will cut the park in half. We deserve better than having a road chop through the middle of our new landmark. Please sign and tell Hennepin County that the Commons will be a place for people, not cars.
