Henkel's reply via their Facebook page, which shows that they just don't understand the problem.

After asking on Henkel's facebook page why they would put an allergen into a product meant to be used by people who need an allergen free product, Henkel gave the following reply: "Hello Vince, we wish to assure you that consumer safety has always been of paramount importance to Henkel. We only offer products that are safe and compatible with human health. When formulating our Laundry & Home Care products we only use ingredients that comply with all relevant legal regulations and that have been thoroughly tested for compatibility with health. This holds of course also true for Cold Power Sensitive. Cold Power Sensitive contains a fragrance containing a small amount of almond milk. We can assure you that perfume deposition on fabrics has been evaluated by experts. They concluded that the exposure to perfume materials used in laundry products and associated with washed fabrics, even under exaggerated exposure conditions, seems highly unlikely to be a cause for induction of sensitization. Furthermore, perfume residues present on fabric do not appear to present a risk of the elicitation of allergic skin reactions in individuals already sensitized. With regard to the warning label you refer to: you will find warning sentences concerning the unintended product contact with e.g. eyes on every detergent pack because washing-active ingredients in detergents, the surfactants, can lead to irritation of the eyes. Same can happen to the skin after extended contact with the undiluted product and hence should be avoided. Nevertheless, the product can be safely used for handwashing or soaking as indicated on the back label. After the washing cycle residues of the fragrance in washed fabrics are negligibly small. We hope this information is of help for you. Best regards." My reply to them is as follows: "But WHY did you add this to your product? People who need allergen free products are not going to buy this anymore. Even your negligible trace amounts are enough for people to decide it's not worth the risk. People don't want Almond Milk added. They were quite happy with the Almond Milk free version. If someone had a skin contact allergy with chilli flakes and your product had chilli flakes in it, they're not going to buy it based on your statement that after the wash cycle is over the traces of chilli flakes would be negligible. People who need a sensitive product are NOT going to buy one that has an added allergen in it no matter how negligable you say it is after the wash cycle is done. Whoever thought this was a good idea to add a well known allergen to a product marketed at people who have skin conditions is a complete and utter idiot."
