As a resident of Henderson County, I oppose the proposed development of an additional 699 homes where Tap Root Dairy Farm is in Fletcher, NC. Development in Henderson County has tremendously soared without consideration of our current infrastructure. I26 is a perfect example of congestion. For years, concerns have been expressed by many about the congestion on I26 in Henderson County and the response has been that is the NC DOT responsibility. Adding 699 homes to an already overcrowded road, especially knowing that County Commissioners and developers have absolutely no control over our roads is irresponsible.

• Traffic on Butler Bridge, Rugby Rd, and the intersection of 191, highway 280, Hendersonville Rd, and I26 during peak hours already experience daily congestion.
• There is severe traffic hindrance as well as a genuine concern for safety especially during school drop and pick-up times at Glenn Marlow Elementary, Rugby Middle and West Henderson.
• There are several neighborhoods that merge into GME/Rugby/West school districts and if the county commissioners were to proceed with this unfavorable development, the impact to the schools would need to be addressed. The county would need to secure funding to build more schools due to these schools are at capacity as well as consider re-districting.
• The county will need to secure funds to afford more county personnel in emergency management, law enforcement, and other mandated government services.

We, the undersigned, hereby petition to Henderson County Commissioners to protect the integrity of our community and VOTE AGAINST approving this development.
