Apr 12, 2018
Over 630 www.StopTheJetNoise.com supporters have signed our online petition so far and we thank you for your support. For those that expressed interest in attending the April 16th City Council meeting, we will still be having an abbreviated speaking time with our focus being on thanking the City Council for their support so far and hopefully educating the people not experiencing the problem about the scope of the issue and why they aren't affected but hundreds of others in our city are. Anyone who wants to come in support is welcome at the April 16th meeting. But of even more importance will be a "Town Hall" meeting that will be held by the Air Traffic Noise Working Group in a few weeks to present progress to date to everyone interested.  Stay tuned for location, date and time of that most informative and important event. We’ve also had some recent news about the air traffic noise issue in Huntington Beach…check it out! ABC Los Angles Channel 7 - Huntington Beach looking for solutions to flight path noise. http://abc7.com/society/huntington-beach-looking-for-solutions-to-flight-path-noise/3329684/ LA Times / Daily Pilot - Huntington Beach seeks help for ‘constant aircraft noise’ coming from FAA’s newer flight paths. http://www.latimes.com/socal/daily-pilot/news/tn-dpt-me-hb-airplane-noise-20180409-story.html And this on April 10th received from Congressman Dana Rohrabacher: Dear Huntington Beach resident, I write to you because you contacted me regarding Long Beach Airport commercial jet arrivals that fly over your home. Today, I transmitted a formal request to Mr. Robin Hayes, JetBlue President and CEO, that he retrofit his Airbus A320 series aircraft with vortex generators. I made my request on behalf of my Huntington Beach constituents who have endured interminable commercial airplane noise for too long. My correspondence to Mr. Hayes explained the daily noise assault created by JetBlue’s older Airbus A320 aircraft on descent over Huntington Beach to the Long Beach Airport. I reminded Mr. Hayes that airlines such as Lufthansa, United, Air France and British Airways have retrofitted their A320 aircraft with vortex generators and that a solution is well within his reach. This retrofit eliminates the whine created by the aircraft wing vents when the airplane is slowing during descent. When I receive a response from Mr. Hayes, I will contact you. Yours sincerely, Representative Dana Rohrabacher 48th Congressional District-CA ----------------------------- Please continue to spread the word and let your neighbors know about our website (www.StopTheJetNoise.com) and encourage them to sign our petition that will help our City Council take action! Again, thank you for your support!
