HELP us save the community cats

HELP us save the community cats
The issue
The Brisbane City Council (BCC) intend to trap and kill a group of 'feral' cats living at Kundu Park at Kelvin Grove. A community group "QUT Campus Cats" has, at their own expense, been operating a positive removal program for cats in this area, through catching, de-sexing and rehoming them. This is a structured rehoming program which further demonstrates that these cats are predominantly not feral. Members of this group have been warned that by feeding and removing these cats that they are breaking numerous laws and may be prosecuted if they continue their work. This petition calls on Brisbane City Council to:
1. Stop their "management strategy" around the Kelvin Grove campus immediately and to remove all of the "feral cat management signage" at Kundu Park.
2. Make available to the care group QUT Campus Cats the funding allocated to the proposed "management strategy" to allow them to accelerate their practical rehoming management program for these cats.
3. Have Council's officers hold meaningful discussions with the care group QUT Campus Cats and QUT Facilities Management towards adopting a trap, neuter and release strategy in this locale.
