It has been brought to my attention that some of you the supporters, would rather see the street be renamed Carlos R. Walker Pkwy instead of Shawty Lo Pkwy! Initially, When I started this petition I didn't put in to much thought about which name would be ideally more appropriate on the pole. My goal was to honor the legacy of Carlos R. Walker aka Shawty Lo. Many of us Atlantians knew him as Carlos well before the fame. But, for those who reside outside of Atlanta knew him as Shawty Lo. I figured that those where the few who wouldn't have a clue as to just how meaningful this icon was to his bankhead community prior and after his success. I must agree that Carlos Walker Pkwy has a much better ring to my ears. Rather it be one or the other, the meaning behind this magnificent man is more important and his legacy will not go unnoticed. From Beyonce to Cedric the Entertainer to Bankhead the world knew of his accomplishments all to well while staying loyal to his community in which he loved unconditionally.
