These misguided worries of escalation are completely unfounded, a war is already happening. Prior to the war, Russia was already accusing NATO of putting missiles on its borders, using this as a 'causis bellis' to invade Ukraine.

Stop giving into Russian blackmail, stop the continual self-deterrence and moral cowardice. If the US won't give Ukraine weapons that reach Ukrainian territory, Crimea, will they do the same as Russia announces more "Russian territory" in Ukraine? Stop playing these games with weapons needed urgently to save lives.
