Dear all,
I'd just like to say thank you for the massive amount of support this petition has had since it was launched almost a month ago. As I'm writing this, the petition currently has 742 signatures! We are almost 75% of the way to our goal of 1,000, which I would've never imagined happening when I launched this petition last month. I'm also very surprised about how far this petition has gone! It's gone all over the world, to places like, but not limited to,
- England
- France
- Germany
- Switzerland
- Luxembourg
- Croatia
- The USA
- Ireland
- Australia
- South Africa
I would've never thought that a petition meant for one city would get signatures from all across the world! I'd also like to thank everyone who shared the petition with their families, friends and neighbours. This has given the petition a total of 134 new signatures! Next, I'd like to thank the staff at the Cafe at Ridgeway for letting one of our posters get put up outside the cafe! It has been a big help! Finally, I'd like to thank the 7 people (not counting one from Change.org itself) who donated money towards promoting the cause on the website. This has been a massive help as well, and gained a lot of signatures! It's really nice that so many people care about hedgehogs, and want to help out! In the future, we're going to
- (Hopefully) Reach 1,000 signatures!
- Contact Newport Council on the matter (possibly in person)
- Try to sort out a solution to the problem of hedgehogs needlessly dying when they could have their own crossing on Lighthouse Road.
- Get a crossing installed on Lighthouse Road without disrupting traffic.
- Hedgehogs don't die!
