China is seeking UNESCO World Heritage status for Kokoxili (Chinese: Hoh Xil) in Tibet; a vast area, as big as Denmark and the Netherlands combined, of breathtaking lakes, stunning wetlands, and striking wildlife. China’s plan may sound noble, but it’s not! If UNESCO vote in favour of China's nomination it will be giving China the red light to carry out the detrimental policies that remove Tibetan nomads from their traditional homelands, and give greater State control over Tibetans' movements and lifestyle.
