The Minister’s comments are at the 7:00min mark. Bear in mind VenuesWest who charges us fees is in the Minister for Sport’s portfolio. 

Given how strongly both the Minister and local member have objected to this, you have to assume they simply aren’t aware that the State Govt charges the very same community sports clubs based at HBF Arena almost 7 times more for their ground hire!? �

For clubs at HBF Arena, the City’s policy change has removed the 50% rebate on what are already very high fees. The fact remains, the rebate would NOT be required in the first place if the fees weren’t so high or charged at all!
