Eighteen dogs rescued from a meat festival in China where they were destined to become dinner are happy and healthy and up for free adoption today. The animals are part of a group of 26 canines taken from The Lychee and Dog Meat Festival in Yulin were people gather to sample lychee fruits and eat dog meat hotpots. The rescued animals are all mixed breeds and include some terrier, Tibetan spaniel and Shiba Inu mixes. They are small to medium size and are all about one to two years old, according to the San Diego Humane Society where the dogs are being cared for. Their adoption fees have been waived. Salty is a 1-year-old terrier mix. Salty is a 1-year-old terrier mix. (San Diego Humane Society) They have all been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered and treated for any medical issues and “fairly socialized” although some still have scars from the abuse they endured in China. According to the BBC, about 10,000 dogs and cats are slaughtered and eaten every year at the 10-day event which is celebrated during the summer solstice. WHY IS IT THAT THERE IS NO END TO THIS!! PLEASE HELP ME RAISE AWARENESS AND SLOWLY STOP AND BAN THIS CRUELTY TO NOT ONLY CAT AND DOGS BUT ALL ANIMALS FOREVER. I APPRECIATE THAT YOU AR SUPPORTING ME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
