**New Petition: Test WVC’s “Commitment to Accountability” on Possible Record Destruction**

Thank you to everyone who signed and supported our petition concerning the text messages involving Wenatchee Valley College officials and trustees.

Those records have now raised a separate and serious concern: whether public-business text messages involving WVC trustees were properly retained, searched, and disclosed.

We have launched a new petition asking the Washington State Archives’ Records Management Division, the Washington State Auditor’s Office, and the Chelan County Prosecuting Attorney to independently review whether any WVC trustee records were improperly deleted, destroyed, concealed, or not preserved.

The petition does not assume that anyone committed a crime. It asks the appropriate authorities to examine the evidence and determine whether Washington’s public-records retention or criminal laws may have been violated.

The WVC Board has publicly praised President Faimous Harrison’s “commitment to accountability and transparency.” This new petition asks the Board and the responsible public agencies to apply those same principles by supporting an independent review of whether trustee text messages were properly retained, searched, and disclosed.
