  • Girouard GoFundMe donations are approaching $7,000, all of which go directly to the Girouard family.
  • Supporters have also contributed nearly $1,700 to Change.org, helping to keep their platform free for future advocacy efforts and promoting this petition for more views.

Community Action & Next Steps

We've been out in the town of Los Altos and surrounding areas posting flyers in local businesses to spread awareness. Weather permitting, we also plan to post signage at the Rhus Ridge trailhead and have a physical petition book for hikers and neighbors to sign.

The fight is far from over, and we need your help to keep the momentum going.

Attend the MidPen Board Meeting

The MidPen Board of Directors meeting is happening Wednesday, February 12, at 7 PM. This is a crucial opportunity to make your voices heard. You can attend in person or via Zoom—additional details are in the Facebook event link. We will also send a reminder the day of! Take note of MidPen's process for providing oral and written public comments - there are many steps! Don't worry, we'll break them down for you before the event.

Every signature, share, and comment strengthens our case. Thank you for standing with the Girouard family—we couldn’t do this without you!

With so much gratitude and appreciation,

The Rees, Schroeder, and Girouard families

P.S. Have you hiked Rhus Ridge? The photo in this post captures the stunning view from the top of trail. It's a steep climb, but every step is worth it - just like keeping its dedicated caretaker!
