As we celebrate Veterans Day, I'm calling you to action. Today, you can save and improve the lives of thousands of veterans because we have a generous donor who will match all donations up to $200,000 through the end of the year! Last Veterans Day we raised $14,000; would you DONATE and help us double our goal? More than 12,000 veterans cannot access the VA, are not able to use the GI Bill, and don’t enjoy the same freedoms we do even though many served multiple combat tours and saved countless American lives - our Afghan and Iraqi translators. I would not physically be here today without Janis, my Afghan interpreter. I was pinned down in an intense fire fight with Taliban bearing down on me. Janis rushed to my aid killing two Taliban fighters and saved my life. After being blown up multiple times by IEDs and completing his NINTH combat tour, he was credited with directly saving five U.S. troops and influenced the safety of thousands of others. If he were a U.S. Soldier, Marine, or Airman, we would welcome him home as a hero, pin medals on his chest, and hold parades in his honor. But because Janis was born in Afghanistan, we do not hold him or his fellow interpreters in the same regard. Will you join the likes of: • General Peter Chiarelli - “They ought to be regarded as veterans, as heroes, no less so than any born American is a hero.” • Senator-Elect Tammy Duckworth – “Well I think that they should be given all the support they need to be successful in this country.” • General David Petraeus – “I think we do have an obligation to them, and undoubtedly the way we discharge that obligation will have some bearing on our ability to gain future help from host nation translators and cultural experts.” Watch them elaborate on their experience with our wartime allies here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yISst0dbQ_g Today, you can make a genuine difference in the lives of veterans like Janis. To show your support I’m asking you to please DONATE so we can properly honor these heroes. We need your help now more than ever. We are inundated with newly arriving veterans every week who need housing, food, clothing, jobs, and cars. Together, we can help Keep America's Promise. Together, we can ensure No One is Left Behind. Together, we can make sure America takes care of ALL of its veterans. Happy Veterans Day! ~Matt Zeller U.S. Army Founder and CEO No One Left Behind
