I am sorry for silence - though for some that my be a blessed relief!!! I break the silence now for a few reasons:

1. You need something in your life that is more appealing than politicians shouting at each other!
2. Something has been happening to the petition ... a sudden surge and it is now over 620,000 - thank you to all who have been sharing.
3. I have stopped running around - in the last two months I have given 24 talks and lectures, and photographed 9 choirs and concerts (while also trying to do my day 'job'!)
4. I did a TEDx in Cambridge - it was a 'salon' style event, so not quite up with the likes of Brene Brown yet (and I do recommend you watch that video) - but it was a great chance to share our campaign to a different audience.
5. The Year of the Hedgehog has been running in The Netherlands - I was invited to talk about our campaign and other work I do with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and Hedgehog Street. It is important to remember that these are European hedgehogs - same species across the North Sea - and are suffering similar threats. I met amazing carers and researchers from Holland.
6. I am doing some filming on Friday for a VERY exciting project that will probably be announced in January.
7. Tomorrow I meet with former pop star Feargal Sharkey at ResPublica to plot further hedgehog campaigning.
8. Hedgehogs are still out and about - if you see one that is small, please do take action and get it to a rescue.
9. Please do heap all your garden leaves along the edges and in the corners (if you are lucky enough to have a garden) - our leaves are perfect hedgehog hibernaculum bedding.
10. LOOK AWAY if easily offended - for the final point - we are approaching Christmas - and I have four books available to buy as presents. If you are on here it means you love hedgehogs and wildlife - and I do not have a 'job'. I am held together by lots of little bits of work - and book sales. If you were able to buy books, I know you would enjoy them - and it would help me ... I will put links to Amazon here just because it is easier - but obviously it is better and more fun to go to a real bookshop!
