Labour stalls senate vote to amend Native Title

The Attorney General, Senator George Brandis applied to extent the senate's sitting and allow more time to vote on the Native Title Amendment Bill - 2017. However Labour voted against the proposal which means the Bill won't be voted on until the June sitting. This allows more time for campaigners to try and stop the Carmichael coal mine from going ahead. For more info you can follow the Traditional Owners of the Carmichael region's website. They have some great up-to-date info and are campaigning hard for their rights over mining rights. http://wanganjagalingou.com.au/our-fight/
