We would like to thank the Shore Road Rostrevor developer, JC Campbell, for addressing concerns expressed by the growing number of objectors to their recently approved planning application. We would first like to reiterate our respect and appreciation for the great contribution the JC Campbell business has made to the local community over the last 65 years, and we wish the business and all the exceptional staff who work there success in their relocation. We welcome JC Campbell’s statement that their door is always open to the community with regard to their proposed development. This petition, objecting to the now approved planning application on Narnia's doorstep, has been signed by over 3,300 people in less than two weeks, demonstrating that people care about this corner of the world and may be willing to support the re-development of the site in a manner that benefits the many, rather than the few. With valuable input from the local and wider community, something wonderful could be created on this site that stands as a testament to JC Campbell and leaves a legacy of good-will among the people. We would like to encourage JC Campbell to make good on their "open door" pledge by holding a public meeting where the views of everyone in our village and the wider community can be heard.
