Thank you all so much for your overwhelming support in helping to protect Rostrevor Oakwood Nature Reserve! Each of the 2,000 plus individuals who have taken the time to sign, share and comment on this petition have directly contributed to protecting Rostrevor's ancient woodland. Ahead of Newry, Mourne and Down Council's Planning Committee meeting on the 8th of November to make a decision on this application, the Council's Planning officer has produced a report recommending refusal for this application for the third time! We hope the Newry, Mourne and Down Councillors on the Planning Committee who are responsible for making this decision will take the advice of their expert planning officer. We will continue to post updates here but, if you can, please come along to the public consultation at 11.00 am on November 7th at the Council Chamber in Monaghan Row, Newry and make a stand for our ancient woodlands!
