Dear kind supporters
Thanks to your signatures, Matthew is now living a safe and happy life in the community, with (and because of) the specialist autism support he needs. He is living proof that people with autism need homes not hospitals. We will never be able to thank you enough for your support in making this happen.
I'm asking again for your invaluable and vital support for others like Matthew. Seven years on from the Winterbourne View scandal, despite promises 'to build the right support' in the community and make 'homes not hospitals' a reality for people with autism, learning disabilities or both, there has been no meaningful change. There are STILL 2,400+ people with autism, learning disabilities or both living under lock and key in acute treatment units (ATUs). Still, in 2018, living in Bedlam-like conditions. It is a national scandal. But you can help end it.
Help send a strong message to the government that keeping people with autism, learning disabilities or both under lock and key MUST STOP NOW.
Thank you
Isabelle and family
