Yesterday evening we met Minister for Social Care Mr Burt with our MP Helen Hayes. We can publicly confirm that Matthew will be moved out of the PICU in Woking early next week. Without your support, this outcome would not have been possible. Thank you all for your support from the bottom of our hearts! At last Matthew can take the first step on to recovery and is now a little closer to coming back home. We have asked Mr Burt to give us written assurances that Matthew will return home in the shortest time possible to the people who know and love him. We hope that Matthew will be back home within 6 months. Thank you all again, especially to those parents and young people who have shared their similar heart-breaking experiences with us. Although this vital first 'assessment' step has been secured, the fight for Matthew to receive appropriate care in back his community continues. We will keep you updated. We will continue to draw to attention to the wider national crisis.
