BREAKING NEWS: Church Attorney Jeffery Chiow Files False Police Report

Friends,
You can’t make this stuff up.
Recently, I filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the City of Alexandria Police Department. While the city is playing games with my request, it did partially comply.
And sure enough, Jeffery Chiow, the attorney and vestry member who represented my former church in its lawsuit against me, had filed a false police report. He claimed that my leafleting homes and cars near his residence (but not his residence) constituted stalking.
As a licensed attorney with a major law firm, and a partner at that, I am pretty sure that Jeff has heard of the First Amendment. And I am pretty sure he knows it protects free speech. In fact, if Jeff doesn’t know that, he is incompetent.
So, that leaves the other possibility, which is that Jeff, who claims to help major defense contractors conduct internal audits and investigations, knowingly tried to pull a fast one on the police. As in filing a false police report.
Leaving aside the incredible disrespect Jeff’s behavior shows for the police department, Jeff’s actions reflect some serious moral gaps.
And they illustrate the fact that Grace Church, where Jeff is still involved, is a toxic cesspool where this sort of thing is okay. There simply is no excuse for this behavior. None.
Nor did I take the matter lying down. I wrote a letter and emailed it to every partner and associate at Jeff’s firm, questioning his integrity for filing a false police report and raising the veracity of his claim, made before the court, that he expended almost $100K in legal resources representing the church. As in the number seems unbelievably high. And if it is accurate, I wonder how other partners in the firm feel about expending 100K worth of firm resources of the church’s vendetta against me.
I’m attaching a copy of the police report, which was redacted when I received it. You’ll note that it expressly says we have had no contact.
Feel free to let the current rector of the church know how you feel about this sort of conduct, and the fact that the church still has not told the truth about its behavior. Her email address is Anne.Turner@gracealex.org. You also can write to the vestry at vestry@gracealex.org.
